For my husband and I and a few others the day started at 6AM as we arrived early to make final preparations for the local community outreach. 1600 toys and 800 boxes of food stood in preparation as the wee hours of the morning slipped by.

By 7AM many others had arrived as the day’s festivities were set to begin. Bus Captains, Co-Captains, Van Drivers, and Bus Drivers all arrived to receive final instructions before the fleet of 8 buses and 4 vans left to pick up people from all over the city. For many weeks now River church members have been knocking on doors, holding community meetings and passing out flyers to announce the Christmas Outreach. Within 30 minutes after the buses left, Bus Captains began calling stating their buses were filling up fast. Several buses filled up by the 3rd and 4th stop. In addition many visitors began arriving 2 hours early in their own vehicles. All of these signs indicating our grass-roots marketing blitz paid off. Before we knew it, it was time for service to start. Buses and vans rolled in. Families were met by teams of friendly volunteers, all ready to assist and escort the guests as needed. Church Service began.

Teams of volunteers continued working outside to ensure smooth sailing for all of the services being offered to visitors and church members alike. After delivering a solid word based message Pastor Rodney began the altar call. As the invitation was made to receive Jesus, swarms of people got up and crowded the altar. As usual the altar calls at The River are breath-taking but most importantly they are always fueled by the Holy Spirit. Lives were changed right before our eyes as the Holy Spirit began touching hearts. Tears flowed, and echos of cries were heard all signifying God was at work.

After church everyone headed outside for the food and toy giveaway. The children were thrilled as they received toys such at Tonka Trucks, baby dolls, actions figures, jewelry sets etc. No cheap toys were given only the best toys were made ready. Then the families headed to receive their box of groceries filled with cereal, chunky soup, tuna, vegetables candy, juice, pasta and much more. In the end over 300 men, woman and children gave their heart to Jesus, and that is what this outreach was all about.

This past Sunday at the River, I helped in the 3-4 year old class. I was one of the three group leaders for the over 70 children who attended. There were children from all backgrounds, many didn’t even speak English, but it was so awesome to see the anointing of God flow through them regardless. We kept them all together at first and had worship. Many of the kids who were nervous or unreceptive at first became alive after a few songs. When we split them into groups I had close to 25 kids. The lesson we did was to explain that the real reason for the season was, is, and forever will be Jesus! The children were excited to participate, but also very attentive. They sat and listened which is usually a challenge, especially with that many kids functioning in one room. After the main lesson I shared a very simple salvation message with the kids and asked them who wanted to have Jesus in their hearts. The gospel is so simple that even three year olds know that it’s something good and they want to be a part of it. We went on to do some other crafts and things, but the focus of everything was Jesus being the true meaning of Christmas, not trees, or Santa Claus. We didn’t even have to bring those things up. Once you shine with the truth the darkness and fake have no place. At the end of the day we got all of the kids and their belongings together. We talked about what we had learned and reminded them that some of them said that they wanted to have Jesus in their hearts. We said a simple prayer with everyone and as a result 54 gave their little hearts to Jesus. Hallelujah!

The minister’s conferences have always meant so much to me; it’s a time when Ministers from around the world come in and share the call that God has placed on their lives and to also be refreshed themselves. We have an anointed pastor and are so blessed when his friends from ministry come and share what the lord has laid on their hearts the anointing of God always falls in the meetings. Pastor Rodney lets the Holy Spirit flow and I am always touched by God in a different way.

The minister’s conferences always come at the perfect time. I am a student and if you’ve ever been a student of RBI you know that it is spiritually tough and physically tough. Spiritually tough because you are constantly growing in the Lord and having to discipline your life while learning to walk in love. Physically tough because much is required, we walk, work, and serve all with a sense of excellence as we’ve been taught. So when starting school and getting the shock of what to come; the summer camp meeting comes at the time. We student get the spiritual food and refreshing we need to blaze ahead, and after the fall when we’ve grown a little tired, we have the winter camp meeting that refreshes our spirits and moral.

I missed most of winter camp meeting because of work, but summer camp meeting I remember very well. I had just started school and was fired up to change my life. Being in the services and being saturated with anointing of God that was there; brought life into areas of my life that needed it. I was like a hungry student eating as much as I could get and there was more to go around. I was touched greatly and I know that being in those services and the grace of God; has been what’s getting me through the school year. I thank God for the minister’s conferences, what better ministers to have as examples while in school to be a minister.

Last week God opened my eyes to many things that I have had misconceptions about and/or had been doing wrong. From things concerning submitting to authority to issues dealing with marriage for the future, I learned many things to carry on with me.

Matters of the Heart dealt with many things, among them, and for me being one of the biggest and hardest hitters, was submitting to authority. By this I mean being able to accept all correction when given. Through it all I learned that if I’m too weak to accept discipline for an issue, then that issue will be a problem for the rest of my life. To go along with this the Bible says that those that don’t listen to correction are foolish or stupid. Also, any fears of being embarrassed by correction can be dispelled because if we have a humble heart already, then there isn’t anything to be embarrassed about.

When we die, we will face the judgment seat of Christ. When we’re there, if we accepted correction from the Holy Spirit on the earth, then we will be able to enter into Heaven. I have two points to make by saying this statement: 1. we will all give an account for what we’ve done on the earth, and 2. we can have correction either here on earth, or later on judgment day.

In dealing with marriages, the first and most important relationship in our life is with Jesus Christ. If we keep it this way, then the spouse would come next, with children following after that. When we keep Jesus first in our lives, there is no chance of us ever abusing or doing something to our families or friends that could hurt them. Another important thing is to marry someone who compliments who you are in Christ and who loves who you are in Christ. If each person in the marriage gives one hundred percent of themselves to Jesus and into the marriage, then it will work, no matter what storms you go through.

Lastly, the Holy Spirit always speaks the truth, no matter what. He speaks to the heart, not the head. Emotions come to the head, thoughts come to the head, they’re all part of the soulish part of us. To truly understand spiritual things, we need to have a revelation of who God is. We must allow our hearts and minds to be changed to line up with the Word of God. If our hearts aren’t line up with the Word, then any preaching or ministering we do won’t be either.

Matters of the Heart opened my eyes to many things I had not known. From authority to marriage to learning more of the Holy Spirit and how He works, I learned many things.

My husband and I helped out with the GAT in Brandon, FL. We learned how to win souls at the GAT, Chattanooga, TN revival in 2007. We heard Pastor Rodney say that he needed soul winners. We had been praying and asking the Lord if we were to go Brandon, FL. We were waiting on some circumstances to change, but the Lord spoke to both my husband and I and said “go down there”. So, we obeyed and went. It was so awesome! We got on fire all over again ! The great thing about going to a tour is that you are with others who will teach you, encourage you and train you how to win souls! I have to tell you that it was so awesome to be with people who were on Fire to see people saved. The most awesome thing about winning souls is that no matter where you go, you can do it. We had our tire go flat on our car the second day that we were there. We were stuck at the hotel while our car was being fixed. I was determined that I wouldn’t let Satan stop me from winning souls that day. I walked around the hotel and found people to talk to about Jesus. I was able to lead four maids, two hotel desk clerks & two guests to the Lord. Now that’s what I would call “Hotel Salvation” ! It’s time for the church to rise up and become what God has called her to be. Every single one of us needs to get out of our holy little huddles and lay down our religious agendas and go out and win the lost. We are so busy building man’s kingdoms that we have forgotten about the kingdom of heaven. The bible says in Matthew 6:33 -But seek first the kingdom of God and His righteousness, and all these things shall be added to you. When we make winning souls our number one priority, he will take care of all our needs. Catch the fire and be someone else chance for eternal life. Change someone’s life and watch how God will open the heaven’s and pour you out a blessing that can’t be contained!

I have been suffering with deep depression for a long time. But when I watched the service with Rodney Howard og Adonica Browne LIVE on TV, Jesus totally healed me from depression. Halleuhja!! Now I am happy from I wake up in the morning until I go to sleep in the night :=) Jesus is wonderful!! I am very thankful to God for sending Rodney and Adonica to Norway, they mean a lot to our nation. God bless you both soo much!! Today we went to the appartment complex in Athens. The first complex was visited 2 days prior yet God had many waiting and ready. One lady was at the huge garbage dumpster, she looked depressed and had a larp. We prayed for her and the uncontrolable tears flooded her eyes. She was so happy and received Christ. While on the way home we stopped at the store for bread. The lady behind the counter was crying and ran out to the back of the building. We shared our script and she prayed to receive Christ. School bus driver stopped him on his way out of complex- was so blessed to have us to pray for him. So 23 got saved. Joseph & Kristy started just go along with it but while there were saying prayer it seemed like they really meant it, then they said ” thank you” Soulwinner 13 years old-newvous at first but then got easier. Saw a transformation.

Guy wasn’t on fire as much as he use to, rededicated his life to he Lord Last week we met a young guy on the street, who was very reserved in the beginning, when we approched him. We shared about the Fathers love and the soul-winning script with him and he started to open up more and more and we could see that he was deeply touched. After that, he invited Jesus into his heart. Before we said ‘bye’ to him, he received one of the salvation DVD’s and went away. While he went away his girlfriend showed up, from the other side of the street and surprise, surprise, she had one of the DVD’s too. She just met another group of our outreach team on that street and gave her life to Jesus at the same time like her boyfriend we talked to.

Pastor Rodney, It was so wonderful to be in your services last week in Athens I was there every night and 4 of the days WOW GOD is AWESOME. The FIRE is lite and I will never be the same, I did Harvesting in the nursing homes and retirement centers and have even been invited to come and do devotionals on a weekly basis at one retirement center as I was traveling home from the retirement center I heard the Holy Spirit tell me that I had finally found my place, I have always had a heart for the Elderly and it was awesome to witness to them and it was also shocking to find how many of them did not know the Lord as there Savior. Thank you for coming to Athens, I WILL NEVER BE THE SAME, and I can hardly wait to come to FL in may for the launched into your destiny conference. Felted lead to call for prayer on sunday after parcipating the 3rd, 4th and 5th, no phone by then so I email, to say how awesome and asked for the fire in my life it seem as if there was a wall keeping me from my promises of God, after I email, I felt His presence, and alot has happen, and still believing, there is more, and I have victory as I keep steping out, Praise God, and I know it’s in stages, I ask to keep standing in faith that I will be set free, from the one trying to hold me from all God has called me to, (the rich man that uses oppression to gain his wealth, is what The Lord has showed me) praise God,I am praying that the cruse will be reversed,and the holds are NO LONGER there! In Jesus’ Name. Amen. Breakthrough, and Seeing the hidden things that are mine, and for the one who has the stronghold, to use me for his gain or whatever that is, to be broken off od him so he can follow after Jesus, For such a time as this! thank-You so much, for your faithfulness and insight, Praise God “The Lord is my banner” always wanting His fire through me as He leads me.
